LOVELAND MUNICIPAL COURT
TRAFFIC INFRACTION FINE SCHEDULE – PENALTY ASSESSMENTS

EFFECTIVE APRIL 23, 2024 

Pursuant to Colorado Municipal Rules of Procedure 210, the Municipal Court may establish a procedure for the payment of certain traffic infractions, to the Court Clerk or Violations Bureau according to a schedule of fines in lieu of proceedings. In such matters, the Clerk or Violations Bureau shall act under the direction and control of the Court.

Accordingly, this Court finds that Traffic Infractions that do not result in an accident are eligible for a fine in lieu of Court proceedings (Penalty Assessments) are subject to the following fine schedule:

“1” point violations                                              $80
“2” point violations                                             $100 
“3” point violations                                             $120
“4” point violations                                             $150 

Traffic infractions generated via Automated Vehicle Identification Systems "AVIS", also knows as photo-radar, will be assessed a fine as follows:

• Exceeding Posted Speed Limit:  $40 and zero points
• Exceeding Poses Speed Limit School Zone:  $80 and zero points
• Failure to Stop at Red Light:  $75 and zero points

This Court further finds that the following traffic-related infractions  are eligible for a fine in lieu of court proceedings (Penalty Assessments) and are subject to the following fine schedule:

Driving Under Restraint under 138                             $150                                                                   

Bicycle Violations under 221 & 1412                            $50                                                           

 Child Restraint Violations under 236                        $150                                                         

 Interference with Official Devices under 607      $100                                                           

Trailer Parking under 10.20.030                                  $100                                                       

Parking in Residential Areas under 10.20.040     $100                                                       

Parking Violations                                                             $40                                                         

Parking in a Handicapped Zone                                   $150                                                     

Parking in Electric MV Charging Station                  $150                                                           

Overweight Vehicle Violations under 507 & 508     (schedule below) 

COURT COST ($35) and a SURCHARGE ($15) shall be assessed to all Traffic Infractions and Penalty Assessments.

Fines are doubled in School Zones and Construction Zones.

                Weight is rounded down to the lower 100-pound increment.

               If a defendant comes to court, the $35 court cost is added in Court
