This free lecture program is offered by Loveland Open Lands and Trails, a division of Parks and Recreation. Certified Interpretive Guide Eldon G. will present about the forces that created the Rocky Mountains, in this unique location, and those that carved them into what we see today.
Colorado is renowned for its spectacular mountain scenery. The whole state is elevated above the surrounding area and more than 50 mountain peaks reach over 14,000 feet above sea level. The Rocky Mountains constitute the only mountain range in the world that is located so far from forces normally credited with forming mountains.
The presentation includes a video, diagrams, and many original photographs, all geared to enhance your appreciation of the mountain scenery we all enjoy so much.
