Everything Is Tuberculosis traces the long and complex history of one of humanity’s oldest diseases, once romanticized and now recognized as a deadly illness rooted in global inequality. Through the story of Henry Reider, a young patient in Sierra Leone, author John Green sheds light on the personal and systemic struggles surrounding tuberculosis, a curable and preventable disease that still kills over a million people each year. Blending science, social commentary, and advocacy, Green explores how tuberculosis has shaped our world—and how our collective choices will determine its future.
