Help plant native wildflowers and grasses to restore habitat along the Big Thompson River corridor. Native plants are being grown out at a local nursery with grant funding from NRCS (Natural Resource Conservation Service). The area is thriving from previous seeding and planting projects and this work will continue the effort to restore and improve the native shortgrass prairie habitat of Cottonwood Run Natural Area to benefit pollinators and wildlife.
Please dress for the weather (long pants recommended), wear sturdy closed-toe shoes and bring sun protection (hat, sunscreen, and layers). The project area is off-trail in a grassy field. Bring water, bug spray if desired, and your favorite work gloves. All tools and materials will be provided, and we'll have extra gloves available.
NOTE: Access Cottonwood Run via the driveway at 1643 W 1st St. where staff will direct you to parking. Or walk/bike in from the Big Thompson Recreation Trail. All ages are welcome.
Registration requested on Offero. In case of changes due to weather or other conditions, registered participants will be notified of any changes via email.
