Trek the Thompson is a fun interactive event that aims to educate participants about the Big Thompson River and watershed. We will explore the role of the river as important habitat for wildlife, a recreation area, and a source for clean drinking water, among many other benefits.
The festival features hands-on activities for all ages at stations hosted by Loveland Open Lands & Trails, Big Thompson Watershed Coalition, Northern Water Conservancy, Wildlands Restoration Volunteers, Rocky Mountain Flycasters, Loveland Fire Rescue, and many others. Free "treks" along the river are also available, to learn about the river ecosystem, local birds, and Colorado water resources
(registration required for special treks).
Drop in between 9am-1pm to celebrate the Big Thompson with us, pick up free educational resources and swag from exhibitors, and spin the prize wheel to win some market bucks to spend at the Farmer's Market!
