This drop-in style Open House event will offer opportunities to learn about the many ways to volunteer with Open Lands & Trails. Prospective volunteers can visit multiple stations for information and to chat with active volunteers and staff members about the three "tracks" of volunteer opportunities:
Stewardship: raptor monitoring, natural area restoration (habitat plantings, weed removal, clean-ups), trail maintenance, pollinator garden care, Budburst citizen science, and other projects.
Education: field trip programs for grades K-5, monthly preschool environmental education programs (PEEPs), "clue table" staffers for Critter Scene Investigations, history tours, and other programs.
Public Outreach: nature cabin docent team, trail hosting, event booth staffing, "natural areas after dark" program support, presenting public programs, leading guided walks (wildflowers, birds, geology, or other topics).
Join us for this no-obligation session to learn about all the ways you can support local Open Lands & Trails. Drop in, ask questions, and find information all in one spot. No registration required. Meet in the Chilson Senior Center - Cherry Room.
For details on the event, see Offero, the Open Lands & Trails online system for public programs and volunteer opportunities. More information about specific volunteer opportunities is available on our Volunteer Opportunities & Environmental Education web page. All training, materials, and support are provided free for volunteers.
